Rabat – Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho has reportedly made it clear that Vinícius Jr. is not available for transfer, as Arsenal continue to monitor the Brazilian forward’s contract situation at the Santiago Bernabéu.
According to The Telegraph, Arsenal have identified Vinícius as a priority target to strengthen their attack this summer and are closely following developments surrounding his contract negotiations with Real Madrid.
The report says Mourinho has informed Real Madrid’s board that he has no intention of parting ways with the 26-year-old, viewing him as one of the cornerstones of his project for the upcoming season.
Alongside Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham, Vinícius is expected to play a central role in Mourinho’s plans as the Portuguese coach looks to build a squad capable of competing for domestic and European titles.
Real Madrid, however, faces growing uncertainty over the winger’s future. Vinícius has yet to agree to a contract extension despite months of negotiations, with his current deal set to expire on June 30, 2027.
The stalled talks have raised concerns within the Spanish club, as Real Madrid risks entering the final year of Vinícius’ contract next summer. Without a renewal, the club could face increasing pressure to sell the Brazilian rather than risk losing one of its biggest stars on a free transfer when his deal expires.
For Arsenal, the situation represents a rare opportunity to pursue one of world football’s elite attackers. However, Mourinho’s firm stance suggests Real Madrid remains determined to keep Vinícius at the heart of its long-term project, making any potential transfer increasingly difficult despite the player’s unresolved contract situation.
