Rabat – The American-Irish power management company Eaton presented on Wednesday its new Made-in-Morocco charging station for Electric Vehicles (EVs).

In a statement, the company explained that the station is the fruit of a collaboration between the Eaton and Green Motion teams, a company specializing in electric vehicle charging in Europe.

The new station is designed for use indoors or outdoors, in individual or collective residential parking, added the statement.

Equipped with a T2S socket, the station is adjustable in power from 3.7 kilowatts to 22 kilowatts to adapt to the available power on-site and facilitate the work of installers and distributor stock management.

Kassem Benhaddou, General Manager of Eaton North and West Africa, welcomed the development and noted that the charging station is manufactured and assembled at the Eaton factory in the MidParc site in the Nouaceur region in Casablanca.

The station “offers easy charging suitable for all types of electric vehicles, as well as safe charging based on proven charging technology, allowing individuals to monitor their charging remotely and securely,” he explained.

Also in its statement, the company said that the installation of Eaton Green Motion Home EV charging stations is simple and fast (less than 20 minutes) and does not require commissioning.

The station is ready to use upon installation, while “its modern, aesthetic, clean, and compact design allows it to seamlessly integrate into small spaces,” the statement added.

Eaton’s Casablanca plant, which specializes in manufacturing energy storage battery packs and systems, made its debut in Morocco in September 2016. The plant supplies the European, African, and Middle East markets. Covering an area of more than 13,000 square meters, the facility requires an investment of $12 million and emples 550 workers.
