Rabat – King Mohammed VI’s advisor, Andre Azoulay, spoke on behalf of the Moroccan monarch on November 9 at the Paris Peace Forum’s inaugural ceremony.
In order to improve global governance, the Forum brings together heads of state and government, heads of international organizations, and members of civil society every year.
Other high-ranking participants include think tanks, private businesses, trade unions, non-governmental organizations, journalists, and media from both North and South America.
The sixth session of the Paris Peace Forum is taking place on November 10 and 11, under the theme “Seeking Common Ground in a World of Rivalry.”
Discussions will focus on finding consensus on the governance of global public goods and common spaces in sectors such as climate change, outer space, and critical minerals.
The Paris Peace Forum’s unique contribution to the pressing issues of the present time is to foster discourse, create action-oriented alliances, and establish norms or pre-standards.
The Forum launches and accelerates multi-stakeholder projects to address global challenges by leveraging its network of partners and members, as well as its exclusive access to experts and diplomatic networks.
The platform’s top goals for action in 2023 are to protect the planet and people, reduce inequality, accelerate the achievement of the SDGs, build peace and a safer world, and consolidate trust and security in the digital world.
In addition to his role as advisor to King Mohammed VI, Azoulay has since 2017 served as director-general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), following a career in the French Ministry of Culture.
In 2021, he was reelected to hold the same role at UNESCO.
