Rabat – A significant portion of Morocco’s humanitarian aid has entered Gaza in coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent, Morocco’s news agency MAP reported today.

The aid includes water, food, medicine, and medical equipment.

Morocco transported humanitarian aid to Egypt last week Wednesday as part of King Mohammed VI’s instructions.

Last week, food aid and medical products from Morocco were distributed at the hospital of the Palestinian Red Crescent Association in Al Quds (Jerusalem).

Israel has been imposing a complete siege of the densely-populated city, preventing humanitarian aid sent by many countries from entering Gaza.

The situation has caused severe frustration and suffering as many health facilities are out of services due to fuel shortages.

On Monday, UNICEF  Executive Director Chatherine Russel  briefed the UN Security Council on the fragile situation in Gaza, where over 8,300 have been murdered – including at least 3,400 children.

Russel  quoted data from the World Health Organization, stressing that Israel has mercilessly launched 34 attacks against health care facilities, including 21 hospitals.

“Twelve of Gaza’s 35 hospitals – which are also being used as shelters for displaced people – can no longer function,” she said.

The aggressive attacks also affected at least 221 schools and more than 177,000 housing units that have been either damaged or destroyed.

Israel’s restrictions also leave civilians with little clean water, which is quickly running out– leaving over two million people in dire need.

“We estimate that 55 per cent of the water supply infrastructure requires repair or rehabilitation. Only one desalination plant is operating at just 5 per cent capacity, while all six of Gaza’s water-waste treatment plants are now non-operational due to a lack of fuel or power,” Russel warned.
