Israel’s relentless bombardment and merciless massacre of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip has turned the Palestinian enclave into a mass grave amid a shortage of humanitarian aid, including medical supplies.

On Sunday, Palestinian Health Minister Mai Alkaila warned against an impending disaster in Gaza, particularly lamenting that the lack of medical supplies is leaving many wounded individuals at risk of death.

In a statement, Akaila said that Israel’s shelling of Gaza hospitals has to date massacred over 150 medical personnel and destroyed 27 ambulances.

Sixteen hospitals and 32 primary healthcare centers are no longer functioning due to several challenges since Israel launched its increasingly genocidal Gaza campaign, including fuel shortage, Akaila detailed.

“This represents a complex massacre inflicted upon the wounded and patients, whereby Israel is trying to block their treatment inside Gaza’s very hospitals and is obstructing their transfer to Egypt for treatment by targeting and bombing [medical] convoys,” she said.

In a statement to Al Jazeera, Ahmed Mohallalati, head of the plastic surgery department at al-Shifa hospital in Gaza, confirmed the catastrophic situation in the war-torn Palestinian enclave.

At least 100 people will be killed as a result of the hospital running out of fuel, Mohallalati told Al Jazeera, stressing: “The situation has become critical since we are running out of fuel and there is no supply coming in.”

As they intensify their operations in Gaza, the Israeli occupation forces have targeted not only residential sites, but also  hospitals and medical facilities. According to the latest estimates, at least 9500 Palestinians have been killed since Israel launched its punitive, increasingly genocidal war on Gaza.

Meanwhile, many in Israel have urged the country’s war cabinet to ignore the growing international condemnation of the catastrophic situation in Gaza and instead commit to turning the Palestinian enclave into a site of ruins and devastation.

Earlier today, Israel’s Minister of Heritage Amichai Eliyahu even called for dropping an atomic bomb on the Gaza Strip.
