Rabat – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Thursday the launch of in-person ticket sales for the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) set to take place in Cote d’Ivoire next month.
CAF said in a statement that this process will enable Ivorian fans to purchase tickets on-site for this prestigious continental tournament, which is set to begin on January 13.
Ticket prices range approximately between $8 for third category tickets, $16 for the second category, and $24 for the third category.
According to CAF, ticket sales will take place in 12 Ivorian cities, namely Yamoussoukro, Bouake, Korhogo, San Pedro, Grand-Bassam, Cocody, Plateau, Bingerville, Songon, Anyama, Yopougon, and Adjame.
The confederation indicated that for the online ticket sales phase, which was launched on November 9, more than 30,000 tickets have been sold so far, adding that the online sales process is still available to fans outside Cote d’Ivoire, via the official platform.
In addition, CAF has made available on its website various locations across Ivorian cities for nearby fans who wish to buy their tickets on site.
AFCON 2023, which marks the 34th edition of the competition, will be held from January 13 to February 11, 2024 in five cities: Abidjan, Bouake, Korhogo, San Pedro, and Yamoussoukro.
Morocco is competing in Group F alongside DR Congo, Tanzania, and Zambia, while hosts Cote d’Ivoire are competing in Group A with Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and Nigeria.
January 13 will see Cote d’Ivoire kick off the tournament’s first group stage match against Guinea-Bissau. On the other hand, Morocco’s first match will be against Tanzania on January 17.
