Rabat – Emirati officials are full of praise for Morocco’s commitment towards boosting ties with the UAE, following a visit by King Mohammed VI.
The Emirati comments come in the wake of King Mohammed VI royal visit to the UAE, where he met with the country’s President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
During the visit, King Mohammed VI and his Emirati counterpart signed a joint declaration and chaired a ceremony, witnessing the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding that seek to boost the partnership between the two countries in different sectors, including agriculture, water, energy, and infrastructure, among others.
Commenting on the visit, Emirati Minister of Climate Change Maryam Al Meheiri said that her country is “firmly” committed to enhancing ties with Morocco in different fields, including areas related to climate change.
She added that the UAE welcomes the new opportunities available to the two countries and is working to promote partnerships to achieve common environmental protection goals at both the national and international levels.
The UAE’s Minister of Economy Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri echoed a similar sentiment, stressing that the declaration signed between the two counties’ leaders is a “strong plea” for the promotion of investment in key sectors in the North African country,
Recalling the agreements signed during the visit, the minister emphasized that the signed MoUs also focus on investment in infrastructure projects, including ports, airports, and data centers.
Emirati Ambassador to Rabat Al Asri Saeed Ahmed Al Dhheri made the same remarks today, emphasizing the evolving bilateral ties between the two countries.
“These relations have experienced remarkable development particularly in the political and economic sectors,” he said.
