Rabat – The Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech has said that his move to Turkish club Galatasaray is making him “very happy,” following his long struggle with English club Chelsea.
In an interview with Dutch newspaper “Voetbal International,” Ziyech said that he faced difficulties after moving from Ajax Amsterdam to Chelsea.
After the collapse of transfer negotiations with Ajax, Paris Saint-Germain, and Saudi club Al-Nassr, Ziyech finally landed in Istanbul-based Galatasaray, where he appears to have rediscovered his old magic and found happiness. “I have found joy again, I can be myself here and feel that I’m blooming again,” Ziyech said of his experience at Galatasaray.
Ziyech delivered a spectacular performance against Manchester United in the ongoing Champions League on Wednesday. He scored two goals and provided an assist in the match, which ended in a 3-3 draw.

Before he joined Galatasaray, Ziyech’s fans had expressed concern over his future given his struggles at English Premier League club Chelsea.
Reports even suggested that Chelsea had declined to assign a jersey number to the Atlas Lion during his last season and also excluded him from their preseason training camp.
There were also contradictory reports about Ziyech throughout the past transfer window, particularly following rumors of unsuccessful negotiations between Chelsea and clubs interested in signing the Atlas Lion.
Galatasaray paid €3.6 million as a loan fee to land the Moroccan international. The Turkish club will have to pay another €2.8 million by the end of the season if they decide to make the transfer permanent.
