Rabat – Real Madrid have extended their contract with Moroccan-born player Youssef Enriquez Lekhedim until 2028, according to converging reports.
The 17-year-old player is seen as one of the most talented players to emerge from Madrid’s La Fabrica, spurring the Spanish club to renew Enriquez’s deal years before his current contract was set to expire in 2025.
Yusi plays at left-back for Real Madrid’s U-19 team under coach Alvaro Arbeloa. He is seen as one of the rising stars at the royal club’s academy.
Thanks to the talent he enjoys, several Iberian experts expect to soon see him make his debut in the senior team.
Born to a Spanish father and Moroccan mother, Yusi played for the Spanish U-17 national team before announcing his intent to represent Morocco earlier this year.
On his official Instagram account, the young prodigy expressed his pride to join the Moroccan squad.
“Proud to be called for the first time to play with Morocco’s national team,” Enriquez wrote.
Rising Spanish players of Moroccan descent have recently been showing interest in representing their country of origin despite being Spanish residents.
A few days earlier, Ismael Ziani, a prospect for FC Barcelona, decided to represent the Moroccan colors for the first time with the U-15 squad.
The young talent from La Masia will go to Morocco on December 11 to compete in the Talent Development Scheme (TDS) competition, which runs from December 12–17.
