Rabat – Ericsson, a global telecommunications giant, recently named Majda Lahlou Kassi as its new Vice President and Head for West Africa and Morocco, from January 1, 2024.
With an extensive career spanning nearly a quarter-century at Ericsson, Majda brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new position, said Ericsson in a statement.
In her new role, Majda Lahlou Kassi will spearhead the strategic direction and “operational excellence” of Ericsson’s operations in West Africa and Morocco.
Her mandate involves leveraging technologies to drive connectivity and societal advancement across the region, supporting the company’s vision for innovation and progress.
Majda’s professional journey within Ericsson has been multifaceted, covering diverse leadership roles in technology, sales, strategy, operations, and customer project delivery.
Prior to her new appointment, she served as the Head of Networks Solutions, overseeing network evolutions across 13 countries in the same region, and has demonstrated a profound understanding of the telecom and information technology landscape.
Expressing her delight in receiving the promotion, Lahlou Kassi said: “I am excited to take on this new role, collaborating closely with our partners and customers to unlock the vast potential of digital transformation in West Africa.”
“My focus is to support our customers, enabling their success while leveraging on our technology and services to drive Ericsson’s growth in the region,” she added.
Founded in 1876, Ericsson is a Swedish multinational networking and telecommunications giant.
The company’s portfolio includes the sale of infrastructure, software, and services in information and communications technology.
Ericsson sells infrastructure and software to IT and telecommunications service providers worldwide. Its product range spans from foundational 3G to 5G equipment, alongside Internet Protocol (IP) and optical transport systems.
Ericsson’s operations span over 180 countries and has a workforce comprising around 100,000 individuals. The company holds a collection of over 57,000 patents.
