Rabat – To decide whether to advance to the next rounds or leave the tournament disqualified, Mozambique will take on its third opponent Ghana in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) organized in Cote d’Ivoire.
The two teams will play each other at the Olympic Stadium of Ebimpe at 9 p.m. GMT+1, and the game will be televised on beIN Sports Max 2 and beIN Sports 3.
Both coming from a draw and a loss, Ghana and Mozambique will fiercely compete to secure a spot in the next round, as they are occupying Group B’s third and fourth place respectively. They are placed right after Egypt which drew the two previous games.
The Ghana team is a four-time former champion. With this in mind, the West African nation will try put its setbacks down to experience and convert them into a victory. A potential win may eventually allow the team to advance further in the tournament and bring home the fifth glory.
Starting well with a 2-2 draw against Egypt, the Mozambican team experienced a disappointing defeat to Cape Verde 0-3, which will make it “approach the Ghana game as a final” to frustrate Guana, said Mozambique’s head coach Chiquinho Conde during the pre-match press conference on January 21.
