Rabat – According to a report by Hammers News on Sunday, English football club West Ham United is reportedly seeking to replace the Moroccan international player Nayef Aguerd with a “quicker and stronger” center-back.
Rumors have it that the club wants to use the money from this deal to hire a new player.
Alan Nixon, a Scottish journalist close to the club’s head coach David Moyes, revealed that the English club is seriously considering the departure of Aguerd at the end of the current season.
“West Ham are prepared to spend big on a center half for next season and could cash in on Nayef Aguerd,” Nixon said, adding that “David Moyes’s spies are putting a quick and tough defender on their wanted list and are scouring the globe for the answer.”
According to the journalist, West Ham has run out of patience. They believe that the Moroccan defender is still struggling to adapt to life in the Premier League.
As a result, the club would be quite interested in offloading the Moroccan defender’s contract this summer. Nixon added that the Hammers scouts are already searching for a quicker, more powerful defender to take his position.
The management feels that Aguerd is making several errors that have an impact on the team’s performance.
The website also referenced Aguerd’s mistake in performance with the Moroccan national team during the recent Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) that was held in Cote d’Ivoire, saying that his error is what caused Morocco’s early exit from AFCON.
Nixon went on to say that Aguerd may be sold to a club where he is more well-liked and where things are less competitive on a physical level.
On social media, Aguerd is currently receiving criticism and is frequently referred to as “slow and reckless.”
An unknown Saudi club is reportedly setting sights on the Moroccan player, and West Ham is already amenable to talks, the website concluded.
