Rabat – The Mandarin Oriental in Marrakech has been awarded the prestigious Five-Star rating from benchmark Forbes Travel Guide, an American wealth-focused magazine.

This accolade reflects that the Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech delivers to visitors the promise of a luxury experience.

Opened in 2015 as Mandarin Oriental’s inaugural outpost in Africa, the property boasts private villas inspired by Berber and Andalusian-Arabic influences. It also features secluded walled gardens, pools, and Jacuzzis.

“Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech enjoys a prime location just outside of the city center, offering both a quiet retreat and easy access to the local points of interest, including the medina,” Forbes Travel Guide wrote in their review.

Beyond its lavish accommodations, Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech, offers an array of amenities and services designed to cater to the needs of its visitors. The hotel features a world-class spa, private gardens, vitality baths, and Arabic-style hammams, as well as direct access to Marrakech’s top golf clubs.

“You’re guaranteed lavish accommodations,” Forbes Travel Guide wrote in its review of the hotel. “There are no “basic” rooms here,” the review continues. “the only choices at this luxury hotel are amenity-laden villas or suites with a chic, modern look that still retains a local flavor.”

The American magazine highlighted the hotel’s attention to detail, saying that it makes “each space an oasis of calm.” “Every day the housekeeping staff restocks your suite with fresh fruit, cold water, mint lemonade, and treats, and TVs are hidden in the footboards of the beds in the villas,” the review reads.

Guests are also treated to exceptional dining experiences at the hotel’s various restaurants, including Ling Ling by Hakkasan, a Pool Garden restaurant, and Shirvan. The hotel offers guests an authentic dining experience, with an onsite organic garden that supplies much of the produce for the restaurant kitchens. “What isn’t grown here is purchased from nearby farmers or vendors,” the review explains.

Complimentary shuttle services and bike rentals allow guests to explore the expansive property and nearby attractions.

The distinction from Forbes Travel Guide comes less than a week after the hotel was featured on another list of best hotels in Marrakech by travel magazine Conde Nast Traveller.

In its review of the hotel, the magazine writes that “it’s the attention to hand-crafted details like these that set the Mandarin apart from the city’s more blingy five stars,” adding that the hotel equally holds “other carefully curated stuff too – from making dinner-party dishes with high-flying chefs to touring the organic fruit and vegetable garden.”

Describing the hotel amenities, the magazine writes: “This is somewhere to waft around indulging in all the extras, from yoga sessions to an in-room supper whipped up by a private chef. Tara Stevens.”
