Rabat – Russian club FC Sochi officially announced today the recruitment of Wydad Casablanca’s left-back player Yahia Attiat Allah.

On its Instagram account, the club posted a picture of Attiat Allah’s move to the Russian club, with the caption: “Yahia Attiat Allah is the new Sochi player. The 28-year-old football player will play for our team under the number 25.”

Several Russian media outlets, including Sport Express, have recently reported on the prominent transfer of Attiat Allah to the Russian league, adding that the Russian club paid his transfer price at around 500,000 euros.

The club plays in the Russian Premier League and is currently ranked 16th.

Initially trained at Morocco’s OC Safi, the international football star spent six months at Volos FC in Greece in 2019. He then returned to Morocco in 2020 to join Wydad during the winter mercato on a three-season contract, which he subsequently renewed.

The Atlas Lion had 164 appearances with Wydad, during which Attiat Allah  scored eleven goals and provided twenty-three assists. In addition, the player won two Botola championship titles and an African Champions League.

Attiat Allah is also a key figure within the Moroccan national football team. The player made eighteen prominent appearances with the Moroccan, including six during the last World Cup in Qatar, with a single assist against Portugal in the quarter-finals.

On his official Instagram account, Yahya Attiat-Allah thanked Wydad and all its members including the supporters, technical staff, medical teams, and management, for the three seasons he spent with the Casablanca club.

“I extend my warm thanks to all the team’s staff, both medical and technical … I also want to express my gratitude to the audience who have always been encouraging and supportive for me to keep working,” Attiat Allah wrote.

“For as long as I live, I will always remember my time spent with Wydad Athletic Club, and I hope they have continued success,” he concluded.
