Rabat – Minister Ghita Mezzour, Delegate to the Head of Government in Charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, has unveiled an ambitious vision for the second edition of Gitex Africa Morocco.
During a promotional tour in Casablanca for Moroccan startups, as part of the preparations for the event, Mezzour expressed pride in doubling the number of participating Moroccan startups to 200, compared to 100 in the 2023 edition.
The Ministry has worked to facilitate their participation by covering 95% of their expenses through the “Morocco 200” initiative, she said.
The second edition of the international exhibition Gitex Africa Morocco is set to take place in Marrakech between May 29 and 31.
The minister highlighted that Gitex Africa Morocco provides an exceptional opportunity for multidimensional communication with investors, incubators, and financial institutions.
She emphasized that the event aligns perfectly with the ministry’s strategy to enhance digital growth in Morocco and aims to become a true regional and continental hub in the digital field.
The international exhibition is focused on showcasing the latest advancements and innovations in the digital and technological sectors.
It provides a platform for startups, entrepreneurs, investors, and industry professionals to connect, collaborate, and explore opportunities in various fields. This includes cloud storage, Internet of Things (IoT), infrastructure, healthcare, smart cities, cybersecurity, digital finance, and agricultural technology.
In addition, Gitex Africa Morocco aims to highlight Morocco’s role as a regional and continental hub for digital innovation and entrepreneurship.
Representing Gitex Africa, Chakib Achour emphasized the event’s goal of creating a “bold future” for Africa.
He said that Gitex Africa Morocco will facilitate over 600 expected meetings between startups, investors, and companies, along with encounters with over 1500 exhibitors, including public institutions, technology companies, investment funds, and other stakeholders in the ecosystem.
