Rabat – King Mohammed VI has ordered the deployment of humanitarian aid for Palestinians in Gaza, a statement from Morocco’s Foreign Affairs said today.
The ministry said that the aid, which will be delivered by land, aims to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian population during the month of Ramadan.

The aid comes amid Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) continuous war on civilians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. In addition to the collapse of the besieged enclave’s health system, Gazans have been facing alarming starvation and dehydration.
According to Morocco’s foreign ministry, King Mohammed VI’s instructed aid consists of more than 40 tons of food items and essential supplies.
The aid is deployed through the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity.

According to the ministry, since the outbreak of IOF’s war on Palestinians, “Morocco is the first country to transport, through this unprecedented land route, its humanitarian aid, which will be delivered directly to the beneficiary population.”
About 2,000 food baskets of food and supplies will also benefit 2,000 families in Al Quds and 1,000 meals will be served daily for Palestinians in the city.
“The aid also includes the provision of a coordination emergency room at the Jerusalem hospital,” the ministry added.
The ministry’s statement came as converging reports suggested that the Royal Moroccan Air Force is set to begin airdropping food and humanitarian aid in northern Gaza.

Reports suggested that Morocco will deploy six Hercules transport aircraft to carry humanitarian aid to Palestinians.
Morocco has frequently renewed concerns about the situation in Gaza, calling for dialogue as the only way to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Earlier this month, Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita said the only way to address the Palestinian cause is through dialogue and peaceful initiatives away from the “logic of power and military solutions.”
He also reiterated rejection of attempts at the forced displacement of civilians, and an immediate, comprehensive, and permanent cessation of hostilities.
The Israeli occupation forces have been blocking aid to Palestinians for several months since the start of the war. The UN and some countries have been using airdrops to send aid to Gaza, but the assistance entering the besized region is not able to meet the needs amid the alarming situation in Gaza.
