The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) has killed over 85 in different massacres over the past 24 hours in the Gaza Strip.
The latest massacre brought the death toll to 31,045 since the Israeli occupation forces started their war on Palestinians on October 7 last year.
Local authorities quoted by news agency Wafa said that Israeli artillery injured over 130 other Palestinians in the past 24 hours. Injured victims’ number climbed to 72,654 to date.
Many victims remain under the rubble or are missing and presumed dead.
The latest Israeli aggression comes amid mounting concerns about the devastating situation marked by the spread of diseases and alarming starvation.
The situation also comes as the world is expected to announce the beginning of Ramadan, the holiest event in Islam.
According to UNRWA, hunger is expanding in Gaza, with the situation in the north being tragic.
In the north of Gaza, aid via land is denied despite repeated calls.
“Ramadan is approaching. The death toll continues to rise. Humanitarian access across the #GazaStrip & an immediate ceasefire is imperative to save lives,” UNWA said.
Local officials in Gaza have also been alarmed by Israel’s use of heavy equipment and machinery to destroy Gaza roads and houses.
According to a local official in Gaza, Israel destroyed one million square meters of roads in the besieged city.
“Municipalities need machinery, heavy equipment, and fuel,” he told AlJazeera, noting that the city has “accumulated 70,000 tonnes of waste.”
He commended aid arrived in Gaza but acknowledged that it does not meet citizens’ needs.
“Groundwater reserves in Gaza are also in danger,” he said.
