Rabat – The only way to address the Palestinian cause is through dialogue and peaceful initiatives away from the “logic of power and military solutions,” Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister reiterated on Wednesday.

The Moroccan FM made his remarks in Cairo, Egypt as part of the 161 session of the Council of the Arab League at the ministerial level, stressing that the Moroccan support for the Palestinian cause is firm, tangible, and not subject to bidding or slogans.

Recalling royal directives in favor of the Palestinian cause, Boruita emphasized the need for an immediate, comprehensive, and permanent “cessation of hostilities and ensuring the access of humanitarian aid without obstacles or restrictions.”

He also reiterated rejection of attempts at forced displacement of civilians, calling for respect of international and humanitarian law.

Boruita also cited the humanitarian aid sent by Morocco under royal directives from King Mohammed VI to Palestinians and renewed the country’s determination to continue to support a peaceful settlement and a ceasefire to end targeting civilians.

“It is mistaken to think that security and stability in the Middle East will be achieved through military solutions or plans for the displacement of Palestinians,” the FM said, renewing Morocco’s position that such acts only lead to further escalation, revenge, extremism, and involvement of the region in an endless spiral of chaos and violence.

Bourita emphasized that Morocco, under King Mohammed VI’s leadership, continues to harbor great hope that the situation in all countries affected by political crises, and wars – in places such as Syria, Sudan, and Yemen – will stabilize through dialogue and peaceful initiatives instead of through f the logic of power and military solutions.

Morocco frequently renews concerns about the devastating war, targeting millions of Palestinians in Gaza.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) launched its murderous campaigns against Palestinians on October 7, killing over 30,600 people while more than 70,000 others were injured.

The situation is marked by alarming starvation and the spread of infectious diseases amid deadlock and Israel’s rejection of a ceasefire.

The war was extended to affect aid seekers amid ongoing massacres in Gaza targeting people seeking food amid starvation.

On March 3, at a meeting with the foreign ministers of GCC countries, Bourita conveyed Morocco’s strong condemnation of IOF’s latest murderous campaign against aid sewers.

Morocco also called for  an “independent and transparent investigation into this abhorrent act and for punishing those responsible.”
