Rabat- King Mohammed VI has conveyed his warm congratulations to Vladimir Putin on his re-election as President of the Russian Federation.
In his message, the monarch commended Putin for earning the renewed trust and confidence of the Russian people, extending to the Russian leader his sincere wishes for success in leading his country towards greater development.
“On the occasion of the Russian people’s renewed trust in your presidency, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for your continued success in guiding the Russian Federation towards more progress and prosperity,” reads the royal message.
The King also reiterated Morocco’s steadfast commitment to nurturing the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between Rabat and Moscow.
Describing the Morocco-Russia relations as strategic, multidimensional, and mutually beneficial, the royal message emphasized the importance of deepening bilateral ties and promoting initiatives that contribute to the well-being and progress of both Moroccan and Russian citizens.

It stressed the need to work towards advancing shared goals and addressing global challenges.
The royal message comes as Russia has consistently underlined its determination to further strengthen relations with Morocco on a wide range of levels, including trade.
Last August, Sputnik News reported that fostering partnerships with North African countries is part of President Vladimir Putin’s major foreign policy goals.
“We are preparing agreements on a free trade area with Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria. It’s all of North Africa. There are many more points of development on the continent and there are very interesting countries” the news outlet quoted the Russian president as saying during a high-level cabinet meeting.
Meanwhile, Morocco has notably adopted a position of neutrality in the Ukraine war.
As both Ukraine and Russia have strengthened ties with Rabat in recent years and both provide valuable cereal exports to Morocco, Morocco has steered clear of explicitly backing or blaming either of the two warring countries.
Instead, Rabat has called for a peaceful resolution of the war and reiterated its “support for the territorial integrity and national unity of all member States of the United Nations.”
