Agadir – PortNet, in partnership with the National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA), has launched a new digital service that allows importers to submit customs-related documents and sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) data online through the Moroccan Portal for Foreign Trade Procedures.Â
The service is part of Morocco’s 2025-2027 Foreign Trade Roadmap, which seeks to accelerate the digital transformation of trade-related administrative processes.
The new system enables importers of goods subject to ONSSA’s sanitary and phytosanitary controls to electronically submit supporting documents linked to the Single Goods Declaration (DUM) and transmit additional SPS information required for import clearance.
The initiative seeks to simplify administrative formalities, improve file processing, and reduce delays associated with import operations.Â
Authorities expect the service to enhance traceability, facilitate document access for relevant agencies, and strengthen the overall efficiency of border control procedures.
A key feature of the system is the real-time interconnection between PortNet and ONSSA’s information systems.Â
The interoperability allows data to be shared instantly between the two institutions, reducing duplicate data entry, improving consistency, and offering greater visibility into the status of import files.
The digital service is expected to accelerate customs and inspection procedures while helping reduce the amount of time goods spend at ports, airports, and other entry points. The measure is also intended to support smoother cross-border trade flows and improve logistics performance.Â
To facilitate adoption of the platform, PortNet SA will provide technical assistance to users during the rollout phase. Training and support sessions will also be organized for importers and other stakeholders to ensure the proper use of the new service.
