Rabat – Morocco has expanded the range of digital consular services offered to its nationals residing abroad through the launching of two new platforms “Rendez-vous” and “eTimbre” in all diplomatic missions and consular posts.
According to a statement, the initiative, which was launched on April 1, aims to provide quality consular services to Moroccan expatriates, addressing long-standing demands from the community to streamline consular services.
The introduction of an appointment management system, mirroring practices in host country administrations, is set to meet the expectations and aspirations of expatriates for modern and efficient consular services, the statement explains.
This system offers users the flexibility to choose time slots and dates according to their convenience.
In addition, the implementation of the “eTimbre” system marks a significant step towards the modernization of consular action. The digital payment method aims to enhance transparency in administrative transactions.
Since the launch of the systems, over 3.2 million appointments have been processed, serving more than 5 million consular service requests from Moroccan expatriates. Meanwhile, the “eTimbre” system has facilitated over 2.8 million consular transactions, further streamlining the process.
To ensure the success of these initiatives, users are provided with support from the consular call center and Consular Services of the Kingdom Abroad. The deployment of Electronic Payment Terminals (EPTs) at consular posts complements the efforts to modernize consular services.
