Rabat – US President Joe Biden described himself as a grown man running for re-elections against a “six-year-old” election rival, referencing former President Donald Trump.

Biden made a series of jokes against Trump on Saturday night as part of the traditional comedic roast at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.

“The 2024 election is in full swing and yes,  age is an issue… I’m a grown man running against a six-year-old,” he jested.

Biden often faces criticism and mockery regarding his decision to run for election and his advancing age.

Converging reports suggest that both election rivals are a step closer to meeting  on the debate stage ahead of election date to decide on who will take office as president next year.

Ahead of this election, many  Americans  are casting doubt as to whether Biden is able to debate Trump effectively.

On Friday, however, Biden  confirmed that he would in fact participate in a debate with Trump.

“I am happy to debate him,” Biden said in an interview with broadcaster Howard Stern.

For his part, Trump has been challenging Biden to engage in a one-on-one debate “anytime, anywhere; anyplace.”

The election is set to take place in upcoming November of this year.

Uncertainty looms as citizens in the US grapple with concerns about the country’s future. This sense is exacerbated by the unpleasant history shared by political rivals, who faced off before in the tense elections of 2020.

Biden faces staunch criticism, regarding his support for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli Occupation Forces’ (IOF) relentless aggression targeting civilians in Gaza.

Many, who were prior supporters of the Democrat, are vowing to not vote for Biden because of his support for Israel.

The Muslim community in the US has especially voiced their dissent for the Biden Administration’s support of Israel, and are predicted to be among the largest group of voters choosing not to support the president this election cycle.

On the other hand, Trump is also known for his unwavering support for  Israel; stirring controversy and leaving Americans rooting for the Palestinian cause at a loss of where to turn.

It remains to be seen who US citizens will choose in these cutícula upcoming elections come November.
