Rabat – King Mohammed VI will lead the Eid Al-Fitr prayer on Wednesday morning at the Al Mohammadi Mosque in the Habous neighborhood of Casablanca, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Royal Affairs, Protocol, and Chancellery.
Eid Al Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting and spiritual reflection, holds significant importance in Morocco.
The prayer will be broadcast live on both radio and television channels, commencing at 10:30 am.
Eid Al Fitr is one of two major holidays celebrated by Muslim communities around the world.
As families gather to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr, they engage in traditional rituals such as exchanging gifts, sharing meals, and visiting relatives and friends.
The day is marked by joyous festivities, with streets adorned with colorful decorations and the air filled with laughter and happiness.
In addition to its religious and cultural significance, Eid Al-Fitr holds a deeper meaning for Moroccan society.
In the lead-up to Eid Al Fitr, Muslims engage in increased acts of charity, especially through the Zakat al Fitr.
