Rabat – The Swedish Dialogue Institute for the Middle East and North Africa, in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden in Rabat and the Swedish Institute (SI), is set to host this month a landmark workshop on entrepreneurship and innovation in Rabat.
Slated on May 21-22, the two-day event aims to foster networking, mutual learning, and cross-sector collaboration among participants from North Africa and Sweden, with a particular focus on enhancing dialogue between Europe and the MENA region.
The workshop brings together a diverse group of participants, including entrepreneurs from the MENA region and Sweden, members of the MENA diaspora, and alumni from the Swedish Institute’s leadership programs, the embassy said in a statement.

In addition, representatives from Business Sweden, the World Bank, and the International Labour Organization (ILO) will join selected sessions.
The workshop in Rabat follows a series of bilateral meetings and roundtables held earlier this year in Amman and Cairo, continuing the Institute’s focus on entrepreneurship, innovation, and their links to sustainable development.

The discussions will explore key lessons learned in building sustainable businesses, promoting innovation, and supporting startups, including learning from failures.
Participants will engage in discussions revolving around strengthening regional synergies within the MENA region and enhancing exchanges with Swedish entrepreneurs.
According to the group’s statement aim is to promote entrepreneurship and innovation by leveraging intergenerational learning, supporting female entrepreneurs, and fostering cooperation between the private and public sectors.
The workshop features a structured agenda with various sessions over the two days, including a dinner on the evening of May 21, and a reception on May 22.
Sessions will cover a range of topics, such as leadership and personal skills development.
Following the workshop, the Swedish Dialogue Institute will publish a brief report on its website, summarizing the main elements and recommendations from the meeting. Additionally, interviews with participants may be conducted to further share insights and outcomes.
