Rabat – Morocco’s fuel prices have been gradually decreasing since the beginning of 2024. A new reduction is expected at fuel distribution stations on Friday, May 17, 2024, affecting both diesel and gasoline.

According to Le 360, this marks the second drop in pump prices this month, as the fuel prices will drop by about 40 cents per liter tomorrow, Friday. This follows a previous reduction of 25 cents per liter for diesel on May 1, 2024.

Consequently, gasoline prices will drop to approximately MAD 14.60 per liter, while diesel will be sold at MAD 12.40 per liter.

Before the new prices take effect, the Afriquia distribution company was selling diesel at MAD 12.79 per liter ($1.30) and gasoline at MAD 15.05 per liter ($1.53) at its stations.

At Shell stations, diesel was marketed at MAD 12.79 per liter ($1.30) and gasoline at MAD 15.05 per liter ($1.53).

Meanwhile, at Total Energy stations, diesel was sold at MAD 13.04 per liter ($1.33) and gasoline at MAD 15.05 per liter ($1.53).

Fuel prices at service stations in other towns within the Kingdom are often higher than these reference rates due to transportation costs, with distance being a determining factor.

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics previously announced that registration for additional support for road transport professionals opened starting from May 3rd.

A statement from the ministry detailed that this decision follows the government’s commitment to support road transport professionals, noting that the registration process for this additional support will be conducted through an online platform.
