Casablanca – The delegation of Egypt’s Zamalek Club landed today at Oujda Angads Airport in Morocco for their upcoming clash against Renaissance Berkane in the CAF Confederation Cup final.
In a show of sportsmanship and camaraderie, the president of the Renaissance Berkane Club, Hakim Benabdallah, personally greeted the Zamalek delegation upon their arrival in Morocco, extending a warm welcome to the Egyptian team.
The two teams will clash in the first leg of the CAF Confederation f on Sunday, May 11, at the municipal stadium in Berkane. Zamalek will train in Morocco for three days before the match, and the pre-match press conference is scheduled forSaturday, May 10.
The match will be officiated by a team of referees from Kenya, namely Peter Waweru Kamako (the main referee) together with Gilbert Kibukich Cheruiyot and Stephen Eleazar Oningo who will be serving as assistant referees. Accompanying the Kenyan trio as the fourth official will be Pacific Ndabihawinimana from Burundi.
This is not the first time Zamalek and Renaissance Berkane have met in a CAF Confederation Cup final. In 2019, Zamalek won the title on penalties after the two-legged final ended in a 1-1 draw on aggregate.

RS Berkane’s journey to the final was not without controversy. A dispute over the team’s jerseys featuring a full map of Morocco led to a contentious situation with Algerian authorities, resulting in the abandonment of both their semifinal legs against Algerian club USM Alger.
But the Moroccan club appears unfazed by the controversy and is now ready to face Zamalek in a bid for CAF Confederation Cup glory.
Both teams will be eager to claim the CAF Confederation Cup title in what promises to be an exciting final.
