Rabat – The World Bank (WB), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Policy Center for the New South are co-organizing the 14th annual series of dialogues titled Let’s Talk Development today.
The initiative, which kicked off in April 2021, aims to shed light on the opportunities and hurdles facing Morocco as it navigates the implementation of inclusive, sustainable, and resilient growth policies.
Embracing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the New Development Model (NDM) as guiding frameworks, the dialogues seek to democratize the discourse on development, particularly targeting Morocco’s youth as key stakeholders and beneficiaries.
The organizers envision the event as a critical platform for a diverse array of national and international stakeholders to engage in constructive dialogue, fostering research and analysis on the nation’s development trajectory.
Previous editions of the event have covered the role of innovation in local entrepreneurship and debates on the evaluation of territorial public policies.
One of the central themes of the initiative is the imperative of addressing socioeconomic disparities exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition, the series delves into niche topics such as the potential of the blue economy to drive sustainable local development and the strategic development approaches for oasis regions.
Each dialogue serves as a platform for experts and stakeholders to exchange ideas, propose solutions, and chart a path toward a more equitable and prosperous future.
The initiative has evolved to address emerging issues such as gender equality, climate action, and the role of youth in decision-making processes.
Through targeted workshops and expert panels, Let’s Talk Development aims to mobilize collective action and inspire tangible solutions to complex challenges.
