Rabat – Mahmoud El Khatib, the renowned Egyptian footballer and president of Al Ahly club, has extended an invitation to Fouzi Lekjaa, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, following Lekjaa’s recent media appearance.
El Khatib’s invitation comes after Lekjaa’s interview with the Egyptian channel ON Sport, where he talked about Egypt, Egyptian football, and Al Ahly, reports Le360.
Expressing his admiration for Lekjaa’s remarks, El Khatib conveyed his gratitude through a heartfelt message to the Moroccan football chief.
He praised Lekjaa for embodying great sportsmanship and emphasized his belief that such sentiments could only come from a national figure.
“My greetings and best wishes to your noble person and honorable family. I hope you are well and in good health,” says the Egyptian legend’s letter as quoted in several local outlets.
The letter further read: “I was very pleased with your statements in your interview with ‘ON Sport,’ which reflected the great sports values possessed by the sister country of Morocco, embodied in your esteemed person, who deserves, and rightfully so, to be at the forefront of the Moroccan football system due to the leadership, cultural, and sports qualities you possess.”
Most notably, El Khatib warmly invited Lekjaa to visit the Al Ahly club, extending an offer to honor him. He highlighted the deep-rooted friendship and mutual respect between the two countries and their football clubs.
Lekjaa’s interview with the Egyptian channel garnered widespread attention, with its viewership reaching record levels. His insights into various football-related topics resonated not only in Egypt but also across Arab, African, and international media platforms.
