Rabat – Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat’s proposed move to Real Betis has hit another obstacle after Turkish club Fenerbahce maintained its €15 million asking price.
Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo reported that Real Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini urged the club’s board to revive negotiations for the 29-year-old midfielder, whom he views as a key addition to strengthen the squad this summer.
However, talks reportedly broke down once again after Fenerbahce insisted on receiving €15 million for Amrabat. Real Betis considers the fee too high and has decided to step back from the deal for now.
The report says the financial gap between the two clubs has effectively returned negotiations to square one, leaving the Moroccan international’s future uncertain.
While the transfer has stalled, the summer transfer window remains open, meaning discussions could resume if either club softens its position in the coming days.
