Rabat – Princess Lalla Soukaina, the daughter of Princess Lalla Meryem and Fouad Filali, marked her 38th birthday in a private celebration.

Born on April 30, 1986, she holds the distinction of being the first granddaughter of the late King Hassan II.

Lalla Soukaina completed her undergraduate studies at the “College Royal” in Rabat, before moving to Paris in 2004 to pursue a master’s degree in journalism and communications.

She married Mehdi Regragui on October 11, 2014, followed by a traditional Moroccan wedding celebration on May 28, 2014, in Rabat.

Less than eighteen months after their acclaimed wedding ceremony, Princess Lalla Soukaina and her husband became parents and welcomed twin boys.

Princess Lalla Soukaina is the daughter of Princess Lalla Meryem, first daughter of the late King Hassan II, who is said to have favored Princess Lalla in her childhood.

Her father is Fouad Filali, son of the late Abdellatif Filai; former Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister.

Keeping true to her preference for privacy, the birthday festivities were attended solely by close family members and a select few friends.
