Rabat – Morocco is well-prepared and ready to host major matches of the 2030 World Cup, Fouzi Lekjaa, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), said today.

Lekjaa said that Morocco is poised to receive the honor of hosting major teams and critical fixtures in the highly anticipated tournament, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.

Speaking to the Egyptian channel On Time, Lekjaa outlined Morocco’s aspirations and qualifications for hosting World Cup matches.

“Morocco, as a representative of the African continent, in this joint organization, will receive the share it deserves for this continent,” he emphasized.

Lekjaa elaborated on Morocco’s suitability to host such a prestigious event, citing the country’s rich culture, historical significance, modern infrastructure, and strategic developmental initiatives spearheaded by King Mohammed VI.

“I believe that Morocco… will be qualified to have the honor of hosting the biggest teams and the most important matches in an event like the World Cup,” he stressed.

Highlighting the collaborative effort between Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, Lekjaa emphasized the broader significance of the joint organization. “The joint organization of the World Cup 2030 far exceeds just organizing matches for the occasion,” he explained.

He revealed that recent discussions with Spanish and Portuguese counterparts revolved around creating a unified approach to the event, transcending geographical boundaries. “We have agreed… to speak about one organization, for two continents and three countries, without the logic of geographical boundaries.”

Lekjaa further emphasized the symbolic importance of the event as a celebration of shared civilization and cooperation between continents.

“The goal is to make this event a revival of the memory of a shared civilization between the two banks… These are the goals we seek through this joint organization,” he concluded.
