Rabat – Tonight marks a decisive game for the Moroccan national as they prepare to enter the pitch at 8 pm to play their first game as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Head coach Walid Regragui announced his starting lineup against Zambia.
Tonight’s selected squad includes the usual faces, stars like goalkeeper Yassine Bounou as well as key players in Hakim Ziyech, Nayef Aguerd, Romain Saiss, Yahia Attiat Allah, Azzedine Ounahi, Eliesse Ben Sghir, and Brahim Diaz.
Achraf Hakimi, Youssef En-Nessyri, and Oussama El Azzouzi are also part of the lineup.
Following tonight’s game, the Atlas Lions will take on the Republic of the Congo (or Congo Brazzaville) in their second match for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Fans of the Atlas Lions hope to see the national squad improve their performances and leave behind their disappointing showing at the latest AFCON.
While Morocco was widely considered one of the favorites to win the continental tournament, they ended up leaving the contest frustratingly soon after a shocking 2-0 loss to South Africa in the round of 16.
Morocco’s recent friendlies in March also proved underwhelming and uninspiring for many fans who expected the Atlas Lions to regain the swagger and effectiveness that marked their history-making run at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
