Rabat – Morocco’s carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced today the relaunch of its direct flight route connecting Casablanca and Brazil’s Sao Paulo.

The flight will be operational starting December 7, with three weekly flights, Royal Air Maroc said in a press release.

Flights taking off from Casablanca to Sao Paulo will depart the Moroccan city on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays towards the Brazilian destination at 4:40 p.m. Moroccan time, the statement added.

Departure flights will be scheduled at 10:20 p.m. local time, whereas return flights depart Sao Paulo on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 12:20 a.m. local time and land in Casabanca at 1:15 p.m.

Royal Air Maroc chose Boeing 787 Dreamliners to operate the flights.

“We are very pleased to resume the direct Casablanca-Sao Paulo route, which was suspended due to the health crisis,” RAM CEO Hamid Addou said.

He added that the route will facilitate travel for tourists and businesspeople from both Africa and Latin America, as well as meet the expectations of European tourists looking to plan combined trips in both continents.

The reopening of the route seeks to address the growing demand from business people and tourists on both sides of the Atlantic, the RAM press statement argued.

In addition, the direct line aims to boost ties between Morocco and Brazil, long-time partners whose diplomatic and economic relations have been strengthened in recent years, the statement added.

Royal Air Maroc emphasized that the relaunch of this line is also part of its efforts to support Moroccan projects, including the global sporting events like the World Cup 2030 that will be co-hosted by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal.

“Brazilian football fans will thus be able to travel easily and in the best comfort conditions with Royal Air Maroc between Sao Paulo and the three World Cup host countries via the airline’s hub in Casablanca,” the statement concluded, noting that the flight tickets will be available for sale starting June 12.
