Rabat – Moroccan football players have been making headlines in recent weeks with their outstanding performances across continents.
They managed to secure victories in prestigious tournaments worldwide with their respective clubs, spanning the UEFA Champions League, Concacaf Champions League, and UEFA Europa Conference League, among others.
Brahim Diaz: UEFA Champions League Victory with Real Madrid
Moroccan international Ibrahim Diaz achieved a historic milestone by clinching the UEFA Champions League title with his club Real Madrid on Saturday.
The victory marked the first time Diaz had secured the prestigious trophy in his professional career, adding to Real Madrid’s rich history with their 15th Champions League title.
Diaz’s performance contributed significantly to the team’s success. Real Madrid won the trophy by defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 with goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinícius Júnior.
Osama El Idrissi: Concacaf Champions League Victory with Pachuca
Osama El Idrissi also made history by leading Pachuca to victory in the Concacaf Champions League.
El Idrissi’s triumph with Pachuca marked his sixth title with the team and his first professional championship in the Mexican league. His remarkable performance throughout the competition earned him recognition as a key player in Pachuca’s success.
Pachuca won the title after defeating Columbus Crew 3-0 in the final on Sunday. Salomón Rondón scored two goals, and Miguel Emilio Rodriguez Macías scored the third for Pachuca
Sofiane Rahimi: AFC Champions League Triumph with Al Ain
Adding to the list, Sofiane Rahimi secured the AFC Champions League title with Al Ain on May 25 after defeating Japanese club Yohohama FM.
His strong performance played a crucial role in the Emirati club’s success, having scored two of his team’s five goals in the 8th and 67th minutes during the second leg of the final.
Reda Slim: CAF Champions League Victory with Al Ahly
Meanwhile, Reda Slim demonstrated great footballing prowess by contributing to Al Ahly’s victory in the CAF Super Cup.
Slim’s exceptional performance throughout the tournament showcased his skill and determination, earning him recognition as a key player in Al Ahly’s triumph. The Egyptian club won the tournament on May 28 after defeating Morocco’s Berkane RS 2-0 in Doha.
Ayoub El Kaabi and Youssef El Arabi: UEFA Europa Conference League Victory with Olympiacos
Moroccan superstars Ayoub El Kaabi and Youssef El Arabi also showcased great talent on the European stage by winning the UEFA Europa Conference League title with Olympiacos.
In particular, El Kaabi’s stellar performance played a crucial role in Olympiacos victory as he delivered a dramatic late winner to secure the Greek club’s first-ever senior European club trophy.
The Moroccan striker’s decisive goal, which was his 11th of the tournament, came in the 116th minute, sealing his team’s victory 1-0 against Friontena.
Olympiacos midfielder Santiago Hezze lauded El Kaabi’s performance, telling the press: “I crossed, but Ayoub [El Kaabi] made 90% of the goal. He fought until the end for that ball.”
