Rabat – The Moroccan people are set to celebrate the 54th birthday of Prince Moulay Rachid on Thursday.
Born on June 20, 1970, in Rabat, Prince Moulay Rachid distinguished himself early on, achieving academic excellence in Public Law and Comparative Law at the Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences in Rabat.
His academic achievements culminated in a doctoral thesis on “The Organization of the Islamic Conference,” which earned him high accolades and recognition for its scholarly merit.
Beyond academia, Prince Moulay Rachid has been a prominent figure in Moroccan society, spearheading various cultural and sporting initiatives.
Since 1997, he has served as president of the Moroccan National Scout Federation, revitalizing its mission and impact.
His leadership extends to the Royal Moroccan Shooting Sport Federation, the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation, and the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association, showcasing his commitment to diverse fields of national and international interest.
Since January 2018, the prince has also been the president of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation.
The prince presides over significant events in various fields and official ceremonies, representing King Mohammed VI at important national and international events, and promoting Morocco’s presence on the international and regional stages.
He presided over the opening of the 14th El Jadida Horse Fair and the gala dinner for the 48th Hassan II Golf Trophy.
On October 16, 2023, Prince Moulay Rachid presided over the opening of the 14th El Jadida Horse Fair organized under the theme “The horse and sustainable development.”
On November 25 of the same year, as President of the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation, the prince presided over a dinner hosted by King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the official opening of the 20th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival.
