Rabat – Six trucks laden with critical medical supplies, donated by Morocco, crossed into Gaza on Wednesday through the Karem Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) crossing.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) confirmed the arrival of the supplies, which are set to address severe shortages in local hospitals. The supplies mark a crucial influx of aid in the wake of the ongoing humanitarian challenges.
“The Palestine Red Crescent Society received six trucks loaded with medical aid, medicines, and health supplies from the Kingdom of Morocco through the Karem Abu Salem crossing in the southern Gaza Strip,” PRCS announced in a statement on X.
These supplies are urgently needed to strengthen medical services strained by the Israeli Occupation Forces’ (IOF) continued attacks, as well as restricted aid flows due to closures of essential border crossings, such as Rafah since early May.

“The PRCS will distribute these supplies to several hospitals suffering from a severe shortage of medical supplies and medicines,” added the statement.
King Mohammed VI initiated the humanitarian effort on Monday in response to the escalating medical needs in Gaza. The large aid package, totaling 40 tons, includes essential medicines and equipment crucial for treating burns, surgical emergencies, and trauma care.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that this humanitarian effort builds upon Morocco’s longstanding commitment to the Palestinian cause.
King Mohammed VI, also President of the Al-Quds Committee, has consistently directed substantial aid initiatives, including previous deployments of humanitarian aid earlier this year, added the statement.

This latest aid shipment follows a similar initiative during Ramadan, using an unprecedented land route to ensure direct delivery of aid to Palestinians.
The delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza faces extreme challenges amidst ongoing Israeli attacks and logistical hurdles. Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of UNRWA, said that aid convoys have been looted or blocked from reaching their destinations.
The situation is further complicated by the targeting of aid workers and organizations, including UN agencies, by the Israeli forces.
