Temperatures to Rise to 48 Degrees Celsius in Several Provinces in Morocco

A heatwave with red and orange alert levels is expected from Monday to Wednesday in several provinces in Morocco, with temperatures ranging between 38 and 48 degrees Celsius, according to the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM).

Rabat – A heatwave with red and orange alert levels is expected from Monday to Wednesday in several provinces in Morocco, with temperatures ranging between 38 and 48 degrees Celsius, according to the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM).

Temperatures between 42 and 46 degrees Celsius are expected on Monday in the provinces of Oued Ed-Dahab, Youssoufia, Fquih Ben Salah, Meknes, Errachidia, Khénifra, Khouribga, Aousserd, Settat, Fez, Sefrou, and Chichaoua. 

The list of provinces equally includes El Kelaa des Sraghna, Marrakech, Moulay Yacoub, Rehamna, Taounate, Ouezzane, Zagora, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Tata, Taroudant, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, and Khemisset, according to a DGM orange alert bulletin.

Hot weather, ranging between 45 and 48 degrees Celsius is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday in the provinces of Tata, Taroudant, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Marrakech, Rehamna, Beni Mellal, Taounate, Fquih Ben Salah, Assa-Zag, and Es-Semara.

During the same period, temperatures are expected to range between 38 and 42 degrees Celsius in the provinces of Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Tiznit, Essaouira, Berrechid, Larache, Safi, Guelmim, Sidi Bennour, Benslimane, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Sidi Ifni, Chefchaouen, El Hajeb, Kenitra, Azilal, and Al Haouz, according to an orange alert bulletin from the DGM.

Temperatures ranging between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius will also affect the provinces of Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Meknès, Fès, Khouribga, Khemisset, Youssoufia, Errachidia, Settat, Chichaoua, Khenifra, Sefrou, Taza, Ouezzane, Aousserd, Oued Ed-Dahab, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Zagora, and Moulay Yacoub.
