Marrakesh – A Moroccan hefla (party) took over the “Africa Station” fan zone on Saturday, just a stone’s throw from the Olympic Village on Ile-Saint-Denis, in Paris.
The vibrant celebration embodied the spirit of unity and conviviality, showcasing Morocco’s rich culture.
Supported by the city of L’Ile-Saint-Denis and the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA), the initiative seeks to build bridges between communities and celebrate diversity.
The organizers proudly unveiled their pop-up, “Maison Maroc,” with much fanfare, right at the heart of the Africa Station festivities.
This dedicated space celebrates African culture and sports, providing a vibrant showcase for Morocco’s rich heritage.
Adorned with a traditional caidal tent decked out in national colors, the Maison Maroc showcases a curated selection of artisan crafts, local products, and Moroccan culinary specialties.
“The Kingdom, a land of cultural riches and age-old traditions, is honored to share its most precious treasures with visitors to the Maison Maroc,” declared Sabah Ait El Bachir, the Consul General in Villemomble, during the inauguration ceremony.
She added that the Maison Maroc is a space dedicated to exploration and exchange.
Visitors can find Moroccan artisan crafts, authentic flavors of Moroccan cuisine, and demonstrations by Moroccan athletes.
According to event coordinator Said Khourach, Maison Maroc serves as a showcase for Moroccan craftsmanship, featuring traditional jewelry, copper and leather items, and a variety of Moroccan culinary products.
He emphasized that each piece represents an age-old expertise and embodies Morocco’s rich cultural heritage.
This exhibition offers a genuine immersion into Moroccan art and tradition, allowing visitors to experience these treasures firsthand.
The Africa Station fan zone will continue to welcome guests until August 11, offering live competition broadcasts, animations, concerts, performances, exhibitions, and athlete meet-and-greets.
