Marrakesh – Just over a year after her much-publicized wedding, Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, daughter of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, took to Instagram last night to share a significant update.

She announced her divorce from Sheikh Mana Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Bin Mana Al Maktoum, marking a new chapter in her personal journey.

The royal made her announcement with a succinct yet powerful statement: “Dear Husband, As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you. Take care. Your ex-wife.”

Sheikha Mahra’s post sparked widespread reactions on social media among her followers, particularly because she did not delve into the full details and reasons behind her announcement.

Both parties have reportedly unfollowed each other and removed all shared photos, including their wedding pictures, from their social media profiles, according to local media, Khaleej Times.

The couple officially married in April 2023 and welcomed a daughter in May 2024. Just six weeks ago, Mahra shared a touching photo with her daughter with the caption:It’s just us two.”

The comments section of her divorce announcement overflowed with messages of empowerment from female commenters.

“I find it empowering when a woman recognizes her worth and confidently stands her ground,” one commenter wrote. Another took a swipe at the princess’s ex-husband, saying “He was giving me bad vibes since day one to be honest.”

So far, there have been no further statements regarding the high-profile divorce.
