Rabat – Mustafa Dasoukine, the beloved giant of Moroccan comedy, passed away Saturday evening at the age of 82 after a prolonged battle with illness.
Born on July 14, 1942, in Casablanca, Dasoukine left a mark on Moroccan entertainment with a career that spanned four decades.
Mustafa Dasoukine was revered as one of Morocco’s finest actors, known for his versatility and dedication.
Over his career, Dasoukine participated in numerous successful Moroccan films and television series.
Some of his notable works include the series “Six out of Sixty”, the sitcom “Radio Wak Wak”, and the series “Si Marbouh’s Family” (2001) and its sequel, as well as “Haj Azouz’s In-Law” (2009).
In recent years, Dasouki had been absent from the public eye following the tragic death of his eldest son and the passing of his wife about six years ago.
These personal losses deeply affected him, leading to his retreat from the artistic scene.
Mourning his death, Moroccans have taken to social media to share their condolences. “May God have mercy on the great artist Mustafa Dasouki, forgive him, and grant him a place in His spacious paradise. May God bless his soul,” one social media user wrote.
“He was light-hearted, and his roles touched the hearts of Moroccans. His style was beautiful, and he delivered comedy without offending anyone. He was one of the best pioneers of art in Morocco and played roles that will remain etched in our memories,” the post continued.
