Rabat – In an exciting Paris 2024 Olympics Group B encounter, the Moroccan under-23 team, led by coach Tarik Sektioui, will face off against Argentina today at 2 p.m. at the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium in Saint-Etienne.
Fans can catch all the action live on Arryadia starting from 2 p.m., as well as on BeIN Sports channels.
This match promises to be a spectacle, pitting Morocco’s Lionceaux de l’Atlas against the formidable Albiceleste led by Javier Mascherano.
With their senior team having won the 2022 World Cup and the latest Copa America, the Argentinians enter today’s game –and the tournament itself — as one of the favorites to win the title.
Morocco, for its part, secured their spot in Paris after winning the 2023 Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations.
Led by star player Achraf Hakimi, the Moroccans will be looking to rely on their solid defensive structure and the attacking prowess of players like Soufiane Rahimi and Abde Ezzalzouli.
The Albiceleste boast a squad brimming with talent, Julian Alvarez, Nicolas Otamendi, and Geronimo Rulli, alongside rising stars like Thiago Almada.
The match sets the stage for a thrilling duel between two star players: Hakimi, the standout Moroccan player, and Alvarez, the Argentine forward from Manchester City, who recently won both the 2022 World Cup and the 2024 Copa America titles.

Both teams understand the importance of a positive start in Group B, which also features Iraq and Ukraine.
A victory here could set the tone for their campaign, potentially securing a crucial top-two finish.
Morocco’s Lions, returning to the Olympics for the eighth time, are determined to surpass their previous achievements following their victory in the AFCON tournament in 2023 by the national under-23 football team.
“The fact that we are going to represent Morocco at the Olympic Games is an honor for us. But we want to honor our country in the best possible way. All the players are determined to achieve a respectable journey for all Moroccans,” the team’s coach Tarik Sektioui, said in a pre-match interview.
“Our match against Argentina is very important for us. The upcoming matches against Iraq and Ukraine are also crucial, which we must win to qualify for the second round. After that, we will start dreaming of winning our matches to reach the final. But this cannot happen unless we win our first games,” he added.
The two nations will be the favorites to secure a top-two finish in Group B, ahead of Iraq and Ukraine, and success for either side in today’s fixture would put them in the driving seat to finish at the summit.
