Marrakech – The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency has launched its “Summer Schools” program for the year 2024, benefiting over 4,000 children across 17 locations in Al-Quds (Jerusalem).
The initiative, themed “For the consecration of the values of unity and solidarity,” is sponsored by the Agency’s “Children’s Club for Al-Quds” and funded by the Moroccan Cultural Center Association.
The program aims to provide children with a safe and welcoming environment that offers support, psychological assistance, and appropriate educational activities to help them overcome the difficult situation in Al-Quds and Palestine.
It includes 150 workshops on art, theater, balance games, and intelligence activities.
The “Children’s Club for Al-Quds” has supported several schools in marginalized areas of Al-Quds by covering transportation costs and providing amenities such as pools, inflatable structures, electronic games, theatrical performances, and stationery.
This year, the Agency has incorporated emergency and rescue simulation exercises as part of the “FAZAA” project, training children on managing fire situations indoors and outdoors.
Additionally, the program offers first aid training with qualified instructors and sessions on best practices for safety and security at home and school, particularly in emergencies, to encourage children to report dangers.
The program reaches all neighborhoods in Al-Quds and areas beyond the wall, with four specialized camps focusing on the history of displaced villages. An additional camp for architecture students focuses on designing engineering plans for facilities in the Gaza Strip.
The launch of the summer school program coincides with the ongoing war on Gaza, where Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) have mercilessly targeted civilians since October 7.
The death toll has reached nearly 40,000, with the British journal The Lancet suggesting it could reach 186,000 once all missing bodies are accounted for in the rubble.
Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, has been an outspoken supporter of the Palestinian cause.
The King, as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, has consistently condemned the violence and killing of innocent people in Gaza and called for the preservation of the historical and cultural identity of Jerusalem.
Morocco has provided substantial humanitarian aid to Gaza, including two shipments totaling 40 tons of medical supplies and other commodities to mitigate the situation in the war-torn enclave.
The Arab Parliament recently recalled King Mohammed VI’s long-standing efforts in defending the Palestinian cause and highlighted the actions taken by the Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency.
The Parliament urged all countries that have not yet recognized the statehood of Palestine to do so and called for increased coordination between Arab and regional parliaments to support Palestine’s admission as a full member of the UN.
In addition to the summer school program and humanitarian aid, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency has provided an e-learning platform package to Al-Azhar University in Gaza to ensure educational continuity despite the difficult circumstances.
The Agency is also supporting start-ups through its “BMAQ Innovation HUB” incubation program, focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship in technology and digitization.
As the crisis in Gaza continues, Morocco remains committed to supporting the Palestinian people through various initiatives and diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.
