Algerian duo Elias Mahmoudi and Nabil Anane picked up impressive victories while Morocco’s Zakaria El Jamari lost at ONE Championship event ONE Fight Night 24.

Mahmoudi secured a knockout win in a Flyweight Kickboxing contest against third-ranked Taiki Naito with a perfectly-timed spinning backfist with four seconds to go.

The 26-year-old Algerian dominated all three rounds with a fine attacking performance, putting his Japanese counterpart on the backfoot throughout the action-packed bout.

Mahmoudi’s compatriot, rising Muay Thai star Nabil Anane, delivered an equally impressive performance in his Bantamweight clash against third-ranked Felipe Lobo.

Taking on a much more experienced fighter and a former world title contender, the 20-year-old towering Algerian showed maturity well beyond his years, putting his reach and height advantage to good use as he picked up a unanimous decision win at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium.

Meanwhile, 34-year-old El Jamari suffered a disappointing first-round knockout defeat in the Catchweight (58 Kg) Muay Thai contest at the hands of young Thai opponent Aliff Sor Dechapan.

On the back of his impressive win against Thai star Thonpoon PK Sanechai in May, the Moroccan fighter had entered with high hopes only for his Thai competitor to dominate the bout with two knockdowns in quick succession on his way to a TKO win at 1:37 of the opening stanza.

Fans also witnessed the crowning of new champions in the two world title fights headlining ONE Fight Night 24.

American star Jarred Brooks defeated Cuba’s Gustavo Balart for the ONE Interim Strawweight MMA world title in the main event, while Brazil’s Mayssa Bastos stripped her American counterpart Danielle Kelly of her ONE Atomweight Submission Grappling belt in the co-main event.
