Marrakech – The Moroccan men’s national beach soccer team achieved a remarkable feat by winning the 2024 Beach Soccer Casablanca Cup after a pulsating 5-4 victory against France in the final.
Morocco kicked off with two important wins against Belgium and Tanzania, and concluded their successful campaign by defeating France to claim the title.
In the final match, Morocco’s goals were scored by Amine Bidouri, Adnan Oubahri, Mohamed Ghenam, Badr El Kraichly, and Reda Zahraoui.
This hard-fought win secured Morocco the top spot in the tournament standings with a perfect record of three wins in three matches and 9 points.
France finished as runners-up, followed by Belgium and Tanzania.
Earlier in the tournament, Morocco had beaten Tanzania 4-0 in their second match at the Ain Diab Beach Sports Complex on Saturday.
The goals in that match were scored by Reda Zahraoui, Zouhair Jebbary, Badr El Kraichly, and Anouar El Abbasy.
In their opening match, the Moroccans had comfortably defeated Belgium 9-2.
The scorers in that game were Reda Zahraoui and Adnan Oubahri with two goals each, Zouhair Jebbary, Badr El Kraichly, Driss Ghennam, Anouar El Abbasy, and Souhail Bessak.
This accomplishment marks significant progress for Moroccan beach soccer, consolidating their place on the international stage under the guidance of coach Gilberto Da Costa de Souza.
The Beach Soccer Casablanca Cup served as important preparation for the team ahead of the AFCON tournament in Egypt later this year.
