Rabat – Eleven people, including four children and three women, were killed in an Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) airstrike targeting a residential building in eastern Gaza City early Saturday, according to Gaza’s Civil Defense.
The strike occurred around 1 am near Shujaia school in the al-Touffah neighborhood, spokesman Mahmoud Bassal told Agence France-Presse (AFP).
“Several families had taken refuge in the house, which was hit by a single missile without prior warning,” Bassal said, adding that search efforts are ongoing for those still missing. He also reported multiple injuries from the attack. The IOF has yet to comment on the incident.
This attack is part of a broader Israeli genocidal campaign across Gaza, which has been under siege for more than eleven months of intense war of the IOF on Gaza. In other overnight strikes, at least ten more people were killed across the territory.
Five of those fatalities occurred in northwestern Gaza City, where a missile struck a group of civilians near Dar Al-Arqam school, according to the Civil Defense.
Additionally, three people lost their lives in Khan Younès, in southern Gaza, an area that has seen a surge in displaced Palestinians seeking shelter from the violence.
The genocide, now in its twelfth month, has completely destroy the Gaza Strip. As of just today, 97 of the 251 individuals taken hostage during the initial assault remain in captivity, with 33 of those confirmed dead, according to Israeli authorities.
Gaza’s Ministry of Health reports that the IOF retaliatory campaign has killed over 41,000 people in the densely populated enclave.
