Arab Ministerial Committee Recalls King Mohammed VI’s Efforts in Defending Jerusalem

Rabat – The Arab ministerial committee responsible for international action against Israeli policies and measures in occupied Jerusalem (Al-Quds) recalled on Tuesday King Mohammed VI’s steadfast commitment to defending and preserving the sacred city.

The committee met today in Cairo, Egypt alongside the 162nd session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level. Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita is representing Morocco during the event.

Notably, the committee commended the efforts  and projects implemented by the Bayt Mal Al Quds Al Sharif Agency, the executive arm of the Al Quds Committee under the monarch’s chairmanship.

In a resolution, the committee reiterated support for the role of the Al Quds committee. The Secretary General of the Arab League also emphasized the importance of the agency, and its role in supporting the resistance of the region and its residents as well as the Palestinian cause.

Under the monarch’s instruction, Morocco has been actively involved in supporting the Bayt Mal Al-Quds agency and providing aid to Palestinians over the years.

This year, amidst Israel’s genocide on Gaza, the King’s commitment was particularly evident, with the delivery of two crucial aid packages amounting to over 80 tons.

The first of these aid shipments was sent in March and the second in June, which included food and medical supplies to assist Palestinians amid the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Since the beginning of the Israeli genocide, Morocco has been vocal in condemning the attacks under the Israeli Occupation Forces’ relentless campaign, and has repeatedly called for immediate ceasefire.

Moroccan citizens have also staged dozens of weekly protests in solidarity with Palestinians, and also protesting against the government’s ties with Israel.

During the 162nd session of the Arab League, Bourita attended the meeting of the body responsible for monitoring the implementation of decisions and commitments at the ministerial level.

Bourita also attended the meeting of the Arab ministerial committee tasked with international action against Israeli illegal policies, where he held several bilateral meetings.
