Rabat— Health and Social Protection Minister Khalid Ait Taleb inaugurated essential services on Friday at Hassan II University Hospital (CHU) and 30 urban and rural health centers in the Fe-Meknes region. This initiative aims to enhance healthcare access and improve service quality for the local population.
During a working visit, the minister, accompanied by Said Zniber, the Wali of the Region, and local officials, officially opened the newly established Cardiology Institute and the psychiatry department at Hassan II University Hospital in Fez. He also announced plans for a comprehensive rehabilitation and expansion of the hospital’s radiology department and the construction of a state-of-the-art emergency hospital.
In addition, the minister also launched services for various health facilities across the provinces of Sefrou, Boulemane, Fez, Meknes, El Hajeb, Taza, and Moulay Yaacoub, further enhancing healthcare access in the region. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to strengthen vital healthcare services at Hassan II University Hospital.
This initiative aligns with the comprehensive restructuring of public health facilities, including university hospitals, with the goal of improving the quality of care provided. Ultimately, these initiatives will enhance the management of cardiovascular diseases, provide appropriate mental health care, and improve emergency medicine and radiology services. This will address the growing demand for healthcare while alleviating pressure on essential services at the facility.
As part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure throughout Morocco, the minister inaugurated services at 30 healthcare facilities in the Fez-Meknes region. This initiative is in line with royal instructions, with King Mohammed VI having urged the ministry and regional authorities to implement a comprehensive reform of the national healthcare system.
To support these efforts, the ministry has equipped healthcare facilities in the Fes-Meknes region with high-quality medical equipment and mobilized qualified personnel to deliver medical and therapeutic services. This initiative is designed to serve an estimated target population of 308,000 people, ensuring access to essential healthcare services for the community.
