Rabat – Rabat has a new mall, called “Le Carrousel,” which was inaugurated today with the attendance of a high-level delegation, including UAE ambassador to Morocco Al Asri Saaeed Ahmed Al Dhaheri.

Covering 30,000 square meters, the new mall introduces a new shopping hub to the Moroccan capital.

The project required an investment of over MAD 600 million ($61.45 million) and was designed by L35, an architectural firm present on four continents in collaboration with Morocco’s Traces architecture firm.

The mall will offer a selection of over 100 brands, a 2,400 square meter multiplex cinema, and 1,200 square meters of children’s entertainment spaces, a statement on the opening said.

The shopping complex will also feature a vast 4,300 square meter dining area.

Opening ceremony was attended by high level delegation including  UAE ambassador to Morocco Al Asri Saaeed Ahmed Al Dhaheri and Fadel Al Ali, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Imkan Waterfront, and Ahmed Aref, General Director of Imkan Morocco.

“The Carrousel Mall harmoniously combines shopping, entertainment, and culinary discovery in a soothing natural setting, creating a modern oasis by the sea,” the statement said.

It further noted that the construction was carried out by Bymaro and the management has been entrusted to AMS Africa. The group is a subsidiary of SCC and Aswaq Management Services – companies active in managing shopping centers in Europe and in the MENA.

The delegation that attended the inauguration ceremony also included Mohcine Benjelloun, Director of the Regional Investment Center in the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra region, as well as Fadel Al Ali, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Imkan Waterfront, and Ahmed Aref, General Director of Imkan Morocco.

Commenting  on the mall’s opening, Al Ali said that Carrousel “goes beyond the classic concepts of a shopping center.”

“It is a true living space where every detail has been designed to offer an immersive and unprecedented experience,” he continued.
