Rabat – Aciturri Group, a Spanish group specializing in aerostructures and aircraft engine parts manufacturing, has opened a new production facility in the Midparc industrial zone in Nouaceur, Casablanca.
The investment in the plant exceeds MAD 30 million ($3 million) and aims to create a specialized facility for the production of aircraft engine blades, generating 100 job opportunities.
Afaf Saidi, Director of Aeronautics and Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Industry, commented on the importance of the opening of the new plant in a recent press statement, noting that this inauguration reflects a significant step in the development of the aviation sector in Morocco.
The facility will focus on producing engine parts for major programs, she said, noting that this project mirrors the attractiveness and transparency of Morocco’s industrial ecosystem.
“We are proud to welcome an investor like Aciturri, the first Spanish industrial company to establish itself in Morocco’s aerospace platform. This only strengthens the economic relations between Spain and Morocco,” she added.
Gines Clemente, CEO of the Spanish group also expressed satisfaction with the project, explaining that Aciturri aims to balance its activities in the aviation sector which currently accounts for 80% of its operations.
The company aims to increase its revenue in the engine sector by five to six times.
“The decision to establish a branch in Morocco aligns with the company’s ambition to develop this market and boosts its presence in France and Spain,” the CEO added.
President of Midparc Hamid Benbrahim El Andaloussi also spoke on the impending opening, noting that the company is a key contractor for both Saftan and Airbus.
“Aciturri’s entry into Morocco marks the beginning of a new growth phase for the country’s aviation industry, characterized by market diversification and the acceleration of localization processes,” he added.
Morocco established itself as an essential global aviation hub, achieving a growth rate exceeding 20%, with exports reaching $4.5 billion and a workforce of 40,000 young people contributing around 40% of the value added.
