Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) celebrated today its entry into the Top 500 of the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
In a statement, the university said this latest ranking recognizes its performance in research, international environment, student support, and industrial innovation.
“UM6P is now ranked as the top university in Morocco and North Africa, further reinforcing its role in education and research on the continent,” the statement said.
It further noted that the ranking evaluates institutions based on a range of performance indicators, covering teaching, research, international outlook, and industrial innovation.
UM6P said the inclusion in the ranking reflects a milestone for its mission to promote knowledge, innovation, and global impact.
Times Higher Education uses several key criteria to assess universities’ performances, including the quality of teaching, research, international openness, and industrial innovation.
“UM6P stands out for its effective learning environment, with a strong presence of PhD students and a balanced staff-to-student ratio, both of which play a crucial role in the overall evaluation of the university,” the statement said.
It added that the recognition further contributes to the school’s growing reputation, demonstrating its commitment to research and innovation.
The statement concluded by renewing the university’s commitment to pursuing academic excellence and addressing global challenges related to sustainable development, technological innovation, and progress in Africa.
